John & Cheryl Dickinson acquired full ownership of the Business in 2018 where they set out a plan to develop broaden the George Arthur’s name and reptuation. Since then the shop has undergone a full makeover still offering its traditional butchery with a modern twist.
Keeping it in the Family, Allen is the son of George who was the co founder of George Arthur Butchers.
Allen began working for George & Arthur in the early 70’s where Allen began to learn and master the trade. A few decades passed and In the year 1999, George gave both Allen and John an opportunity they couldn’t turn down. To take full control of the shop with joint partnership that would only mature in time. 45 years later Allen decided to hang up his knives in January 2018, now only working part time behind the scenes and helping the team out, he is thoroughly enjoying retirement.
John who comes from a family who know the Butchery Trade extremely well, joined George Arthur Butchers in 1992.
John has a whole heap of experience, starting his career of working for his father at the young age of 11 as a Saturday lad, gained the majority of experience by working for Meat Masters at Guildford. John became a partner of the family business in 1999, where he has put his own personal stamp on the shop, with Johns Energy & Passion the shop wouldn’t be where it is today.
Tom joined the team back in early 2015 where he had decided to have a slight career change. Being a fully qualified Chef, Tom had recently arrived back from the Caribbean offering his cheffing expertise on the Super Yachts. He had also previously worked in Local Gastro pubs and Hotels around in and around Surrey. Tom fitted in very well at George Arthurs with his vast amount of knowledge and experience within the catering industry, he is now fully focused on expanding his Butchery Skill & Knowledge.
Mike who has been with us since early 2019, with previous experience in the Butchery Trade following in his fathers footsteps has the potential to become a very good butcher. Although you may not see alot of Mike, the work that he produces behind the scenes is second to none. Since his arrival he has put his own stamp on all of our Homemade Pies & Pastries.
